Book blogging has exploded since the early 2000s, with dedicated readers posting reviews of the latest titles to their regular visitors.
This is good news for authors and publishers, who are understandably keen to get the word out about their new books. And so we arrive at the concept of the organised blog tour.
Authors and publishers invite bloggers to review a given title, and organise the reviews to come out on consecutive days around the time of publication. There may also be an interview with the author, or a competition to give away a copy of the book.
